HISTORY
It started in 1999 in the central park of Santa Cruz, Bolivia when Rocky Malloy sat next to a man reading the newspaper.
He happened to read a headline as the man turned the page, which said, "Religion classes to be taken out of school because
of lack of teachers." (Bolivia like other Spanish speaking countries is Catholic by constitution.)
Rocky met with his Bible School students at the time and asked them if they would volunteer as religion teachers in the public schools. The local school superintendent gave permission for a pilot project that was launched that same year in three schools with a total of just 44 students.
In 2003 the Bolivian government issued an executive order giving The School Project access to every school in Bolivia, which followed an earlier resolution in the Senate, licensing SOF to produce curriculum and train teachers and parents groups.
Originally the program was called “The School Project”. In 2002 it become known as Moral Orientation Project or POM in Bolivia and in 2003 the project was named KidFAITH for the sake of our English speaking partners. By 2007 the program had grown to servicing 250,000 students in over 1000 schools with more than 15,000 teachers and parents enrolled. At that time the project’s name was changed to Mission Generation (MG). To further enhance the ministry’s commitment to the vision Shield of Faith Ministries, Inc name was also changed to Mission Generation, Inc.
The results of the program have been fabulous, thousands of children, parents and education professionals have received Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior and had their lives changed by His grace. Starting with just 44 students MG has become the largest ministry in Bolivia.
